Welcome to the demo site of the CKEditor module. This site contains some information about the project, as well as space for testing and playing with it. Information on this site refers to the 6.x release of the CKEditor module (6.x-1.x).
The 6.x version of CKEditor module is compatible with Drupal 6.
CKEditor is a Rich Text Editor which can replace the default plain text fields with a nice visual HTML editor (WYSIWYG).
Some features of CKEditor:
- ready to use plugins and buttons for <!--break-->and <!--pagebreak--> tags(1) (note: not visible on this page, because it is impossible to use teaser break in comments)
- linktocontent and linktonode plugins and buttons(2) for easy linking to nodes or menu items.

-
support for external file browsers, like CKFinder, IMCE, WebFM (pending, not available yet) or ImageBrowser (pending, not available yet)
-
each user may have it's own configuration (choose skin, toolbar, language, default state of CKEditor, etc.)
-
and much more!
Please note that due to security reasons, CKEditor functionality in comments in this demo site is limited. In fact, you can do with CKEditor much more than it is shown here - take a look at CKEditor demo to have an overview of all available features. If you are wondering why the toolbar is reduced and some buttons are missing, take a look at an article about configuring input formats. Remember that you don't have to use all features that CKEditor offers, you can disable any button you want and make the interface lighter.
Changes made on this site to the default Drupal + CKEditor installation:
-
Styles are applied with inline styles, so we've disabled the default Drupal HTML Filter in Filtered HTML input format and used HTML Purifier filter instead. It protects the output against cross-site scripting (XSS) attack while still allowing users to use inline styles. By default in Drupal it is possible to use inline styles only with Full HTML input format. More about filters in configuring input formats article.
-
Added new buttons: linktocontent and linktonode (experimental plugins, check README.txt for installation instructions)
-
As an example of file browser integration, in Link dialog CKFinder is used and in Image Dialog IMCE is enabled.

Recently I was asked to look at building a web application that would run on Tomcat and use Active Directory for authentication. Since I didn’t exactly know how to do this, I thought it would be interesting to get an OSS LDAP server up and running on my Mac and try hooking into it with Tomcat. Since I couldn’t find this already on the net, I thought it would be handy to document the process I went through to get this set up.First, you will need to have the following packages installed:- MacPorts- TomcatNow for the step-by-step:Install OpenLDAP from MacPorts
Copy slapd.conf.default to slapd.conf
Customize OpenLDAP configuration for Tomcat sample schema
Add additional schemas needed to support the Tomcat sample:
Also set suffix and rootdn as shown in this sample. There’s no need to change the database type, however.Notice that the slapd.conf file defines a location that doesn’t exist for a pidfile and argsfile, so we’ll need to create the directory:
Start up OpenLDAP:
Check that it’s running:
If it’s not, use -d -1 options on the command line to see what’s causing it to fail.Copy the LDIF sample file shown on the Tomcat page into a text file.Import the sample data:
Backup Tomcat’s server config
Edit the realm definition as shown on the Tomcat page – authentication should not be needed to do LDAP lookups with the default configuration

To fully benefit from cloud
To fully benefit from cloud computing, you must ensure that the data, applications and systems are properly secured so that your cloud infrastructure won't expose your organization to risk. Cloud computing has the usual requirements of traditional IT security, though it presents an added level of risk because of the "externalized" aspects of a cloud model. This can make it more difficult to maintain data integrity and privacy, support data and service availability, and demonstrate compliance.
Assessing the risks associated with cloud computing, such as data integrity, recovery, privacy, and tenant isolation, is critical to the adoption of cloud technologies. These risks call for automated end-to-end security with a heavier emphasis on strong isolation, integrity and resiliency in order to provide visibility, control and automation across your cloud computing infrastructure.
